Candidates will be expected to pass:
Candidates who successfully pass these tests will be placed on a hiring list for up to two years. If offered employment, the candidate must then successfully pass polygraph and psychological examinations. Successful candidates must then pass a complete physical and drug screen to begin on the payroll and attend the academy. At the academy, recruits will be required to:
Following academy, recruits will complete a four month field training program with the Freeport Police Department. If the recruit successfully completes the field training program, he/she will become a sworn officer on the department and assigned to a shift.
