Officer Friendly Program
The Officer Friendly Program is for students from kindergarten through fifth grade. The program establishes a rapport between law enforcement and the children of the community. "Officer Friendly" gives appropriate information to the students based on their age. The program ensures that the children know their name, address, and phone number for "stranger danger," bike safety, who they can go to if they need help, and what to do if they locate or see something illegal. "Officer Friendly" also allows time for the student to ask any questions that they may have. The students are given books from the National Child Safety Council to take home and go through with their parents. If you have any questions or comments regarding the Officer Friendly Program please contact Sergeant Carter at the Freeport Police Department, (815) 235-8222. |
