The Finance Department of the City of Freeport:
manages the City's financial resources and budgeting
handles the City's payroll and accounts payable
oversees internal and external audits
and handles the purchasing activity for the City
The Finance Department staffs three individuals.
City of Freeport Purchasing Policy
Freeport Sales Tax Rates: The sales tax rate for general merchandise for the City of Freeport is 8%. For prepared foods which are subject to the City's food and beverage tax, the rate is 9 1/4%.
