City Clerk – Martha "Meg" Zuravel

Meg Zuravel was appointed to the Office of City Clerk on October 1, 2007, to complete a vacated term. She was elected to office on April 7, 2009 for a four year term. Her term expires April 30, 2013.

Zuravel is a life-long resident of Freeport. She graduated from Aquin Catholic High School and continued her studies at Highland Community College where she received an Associate of Science Degree in Business. After graduating from Highland Community College, she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with majors in Marketing and Finance from Southern Illinois University. Her prior work experience includes Employee Compensation Manager with a local insurance company, Development Director for the Freeport Catholic School System, and Marketing Coordinator for a local engineering firm.

Ms. Zuravel is a member of the Northwestern Illinois Municipal Clerks Association, Municipal Clerks of Illinois, and International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

Although her formal name is Martha, she has been called since birth and prefers the nickname of "Meg."
